Helloooooo, welcome to October your majesties. Hope it’s not too late to say that. I love October, I really do and I as a matter of fact wanted to get married in October, but that didn’t happen so God gave me my beautiful baby girl in October. Anyways, this is the 10th month of the year, and 2024 has gone by so fast. But when we look back on the year, no matter how much we might still have pending on our list of to -do’s, or wish we have already accomplished, the truth is as children of God, we have so much more to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving is not just a season, a day or a period. it’s a state of being, which as a child of God, you have to cultivate. the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” In all circumstances, not some, not at the end of the year, or when you receive that miracle or answer you so desperately prayed for.
Do you know that to be perpetually thankful is an act of faith? Faith in the Father, and in what he can do for you.
so I am throwing this invite to you, let’s live everyday of the rest of the year in gratitude. that is be intentional about being grateful to God. Just to remind us of a few things that living in gratitude does for us:
1. gratitude makes us glow gratitude
2. keeps us in a state of joy,
3. gratitude opens us up to receive more.
Here are a few ways we can be intentional about being grateful:
- Keep a written account of the things you’re grateful for: sticky notes, a notebook etc.
- Set aside a short time (could even be just 5minutes) each day to say a prayer of thanksgiving. (you can set an alarm to remind you)
- Make time to praise and worship the LORD each day with songs and with psalms.
Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Hebrews 12:28-29
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.'”
This is what the Word of God says, I’ve.
